How would I describe Rita? Well, first of all she is wicked smart. She is not book smart but street smart. She worked in Hollywood for many years after college so she can tell you great stories about movies, actors, and actresses. She is really funny, like Ellen DeGeneres. My entire family (including my daughter) fell in love with Rita the minute they met her. Rita is also a fantastic, loyal friend. I have never known someone who has stayed friends with so many people from high school, college, and the various places she has lived ( Los Angeles, California, New York City) and everywhere in between. Rita has a unique and engaging way of interacting with children, and she especially enjoys spending time with her friends’ kids. She’s always eager to play their games, do their puzzles, and read to them. Our nieces and nephew also adore their Auntie Rita.

Rita is also an incredible planner. From family vacations, to planning our wedding, and even taking care of me and Jessica, she gets it right all of the time. Even when a plan goes astray, the outing or event is fun, because Rita’s usually got a “plan B” up her sleeve. I think it all boils down to the fact that we really enjoy being together. Rita is also incredibly patient. On days when work has caused me lots of stress or I am sick with a cold, Rita is always kind and caring and knows how to put me in a better mood.
